ANNOUNCEMENT OF A LATE COMPETITION FOR 5 STUDENTSHIPS (4 funded!)

A late competition is announced for admission of 5 students to the Graduate School of Physics. The competition is reserved to candidates with an academic qualification equivalent to a Master degree (italian Laurea Magistrale or Specialistica).

Of the 4 studentships carrying a grant, 3 are for specific research projects:
1 is funded by INAF, and will be assigned for study and research on Galaxies through the cosmic ages: the role of primordial conditions and environmental effects on funds by the European Research Council for a starting independent Research Grant (contact Gabriella de Lucia);
2 are funded by Elettra, the national synchrotron laboratory located in Basovizza in the outskirts of Trieste; of these 1 will be assigned for study and research on experimental synchrotron physics and 1 for study and research on the development of new free electron laser sources (contact Giorgio Paolucci or Fulvio Parmigiani );
1 is funded by the University of Trieste .

The 5-th studentship will be assigned for study and research on the project Pan-European training in computational cosmology: modelling cosmic structures, person in charge Stefano Borgani; the project is financed by the European Commission as Initial Training Network (ITN); the successful candidate will be hired under contract.  (The contract is available: a) to Italian citizens who have spent at least 3 years outside Italy in the past 4 years; b) to non-Italian candidates provided they have not been studying in Italy for more than 12 months in the past 3 years.)

The selection will be based on the scientific qualifications of the candidates.
